Great Southern Land Road Trip V2.0

This is version 2.0 of our very successful “GREAT SOUTHERN LAND” road trip that we held last September.

This time around we have streamlined the itinerary to lessen the total distance of the trip and add some more PORSCHE-Y roads.

We are away for six days with five nights in hotels and one motel with as much PORSCHE-alistic driving as possible. No early mornings dodging Kangaroos and the like, just open roads to enjoy in your PORSCHE.

Day one:    We head for the hills, winding our way towards Kattaning to stay at the amazing Premier Mill Hotel. This hotel was originally built in the 1890’s as a flour mill, and now, thanks to a clever man, it is a boutique hotel with themed rooms. POWA has overnighted here many times as it is a good drive from the city and a great base, Kattaning being the northern part of the Great Southern area.

Day two :    After a good night’s rest and a leisurely breakfast, we meander even further south through the wheatfields and Stirling ranges and down into Albany for two nights of R & R in the Hilton Garden Inn which is situated right on the waters' edge of Princess Royal Harbour. As it is a Sunday and a Monday, our restaurant choices are limited. The Rustlers Steak House for one, is trading both nights and a great place to wind down and debrief. We will find another in due course.

Day three:    Day of leisure, exploring, driving, wining or dining. So much to see and do around in Albany. Being a Monday night, our meal choices are limited.

Day four:      We are shooting off from Albany and up to Manjimup. The forests around this area has seemingly unlimited PORSCHE-tastic roads just for us. This is our one night in a motel, being the Kingsley Motel situated just south of downtown. Evening dining will be at Tall Timbers in the main street of Manjimup.

Day five:     We depart Manjimup and take in as many of the awesome PORSCHE designed roads on our way to Busselton. Tonight’s accommodation is at the Hilton Garden Inn situated right near the famous Busselton jetty in the vibrant tourist district.

Day six:              Time for goodbyes and make your way back to the big smoke or alternatively, extend your stay whilst in the region. Too many wineries to ignore 😉
